MR. ANIL XAVIER is a practicing lawyer since 1991. He has been involved in multi-party complex civil / business / commercial / corporate mediations and arbitrations.
He is a member of the Independent Standards Commission and Ethics Committee of International Mediation Institute (IMI), at the Hague, Netherlands, and an IMI Certified Mediator. Was a Senior Fellow of the Dispute Resolution Institute of the Hamline University School of Law, USA and an International Accredited Negotiator and Mediator of ADR Chambers UK, affiliated with the Civil Mediation Council (UK). He is the Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of the Asian Mediation Association, Hong Kong to prepare mediation guidelines for AMA Member countries.
Empanelled as International Accredited Mediator of the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC), Singapore and the Florence International Mediation Chamber (FIMC) of the Chamber of Commerce, Italy. He is a member of the International Advisory Board (IAB) of the Afghanistan Centre for Commercial Dispute Resolution (ACDR) and Advisory Council of Global Mediators Network, UK. He is nominated as one of the world’s leading practitioner in the field of ADR by Who’s Who Legal 2016, London, UK. He is empanelled as an International Arbitrator with Newton Arbitration, London and as an Arbitrator with the High Court of Kerala, India.
He is the President of Indian Institute of Arbitration & Mediation (IIAM) and Executive Committee member of the ADR Law Section of the Indian National Bar Association (INBA).
Was instrumental in developing Community Mediation Service by IIAM and is a member of the CMS Public Committee implementing Community Mediation Clinics in India. He is the editor of online magazine “The Indian Arbitrator” of IIAM, a member of the Editorial Board of “ADR World”, e-magazine of IIADRA and a member of the Advisory Council of online law journal, “International Journal of Advanced Research in Law and Social Science” of the Lords Advocate, India. His articles and papers have been published in various national and international publications. He has presented papers and published articles on ADR in various international seminars and journals.
