MR. BENJAMIN HUGHES is an independent arbitrator based in Seoul, Korea. He is Associate Professor of Law at Seoul National University, and resident arbitrator of The Arbitration Chambers in Singapore.

Ben is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and chair of the Korea Chapter of CIArb. He is also a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.

He was a visiting professor at the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law and an adjunct professor at Korea University School of Law and the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea.

Ben is a member of the International Arbitration Committee of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, the Executive Committee of the Seoul International Dispute Resolution Center, and a Director of the Korean Council for International Arbitration.

He is also an advisor to the Korean Bar Association and the Korean Arbitration Association. He has been appointed as arbitrator under the rules of the ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, UNCITRAL, CIETAC, KLRCA, ACICA and KCAB. Ben is a panel arbitrator of the AAA/ICDR, JCAA, WIPO and BAC, among other arbitral institutions.
